I am writing this message on the 1st day of the 23rd Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX 2004), which is participated by more than 2000 companies from 50 countries. This is an example of UAE’s involvement in the Information Technology. I was amazed the fast growth of IT in UAE, specially in the “mini world” and “the world of opportunities” DUBAI has transformed its many departments to e-government. As well as many of the major corporations in UAE are implemented the ERP solutions (like SAP and Oracle Financials) also joined with e-government.

The Dubai Internet City (DIC) is housing the Regional Head quarters of many IT Giants like Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, HP, Compaq, Acer and Dell. There are many famous brands are manufactured/assembled in the Dubai Jebel-Ali Free Zone. The UAE government has implemented the software piracy law. The UAE is one of the densely populated Mobile and Internet users and it has good opportunities in this field.
